Local is a compass, a living map in constant flux with a selection of the best and most exclusive in food, contemporary art, festivals, bars, nightclubs, public spaces and big and small urban stories. We are discerning; discovering new trends before they become trendy is our specialty. We make it easy for you to explore the city intelligently.

Sections

The site is organized into sections: gastronomy, culture, music, shopping and concerts and festivals. We cover almost all aspects of life in the capital with a special emphasis on new projects, design, art, nightlife and ideas for seeing the city in a different way.

Each week we propose a local itinerary with suggestions about what to do, see, hear, and where to dance and eat in Mexico City. In the Capital Section we run the most interesting stories, news and reviews of brief events.

Foto is a platform for young, up-and-coming photographers. We work in partnership with Plataforma de Imágenes Contemporáneas and we also showcase local photographers’ portfolios. In the Video Section, Local keeps an archive with the best moments from the events we organize and the ones we attend as guests.

Who are our readers?

Local is aimed at a young, educated audience interested in exploring the city in a new and original way. We are cartographers making revamped, stylish maps and we offer our audience a guide to improve their experience of the city.

Printed guide

For over ten years we published the annual city guide dF por Travesías. When the city changed its name, we did too. Now Local keeps up the tradition and each year we create a guide with a theme: Design, Architecture, and our latest, Music, are a few of the subjects we have tackled throughout the years. The books are beautifully designed and have become collectible items.

Video

Video is one of the main tools for Local to convey our stories. We constantly post clips in social media to attract new audiences to our site, and there is also a live archive of events and experiences.

Epicenter Local proposes itineraries for walks and tours around the main events happening in the city. If there is a great concert on in Bellas Artes, we will suggest several other places of interest to round out the experience.

Deli Local is dedicated to gastronomy, from street food to award winning chefs. Food is one of the main attractions of Mexico City.

Visit is an opportunity to enter the studios of visual artists: illustrators, painters and even tattoo artists open up to us and explain their creative processes.
